Allograft Dermal Matrix Grafts have been utilized by physicians since 1992 for patients who have experienced penile trauma of some kind. Tissues harvested by donor banks are used to graft the patient’s penis. It is real tissues that have been donated by people. This method is used to repair all types of injuries.

In 1994 physicians began using Allograft Dermal Matrix Grafts for cosmetic enhancements on patients. Cosmetic surgeries are surgeries in which a man has something on or about his penis adjusted to make it look more pleasing to him or partners. This is usually used cosmetically for widening the penis in men who are uncomfortable with the size that their penis is. Research shows that with the Allograft Dermal Matrix Grafts, a patient can see up to a 50% difference in the width of their penises. The average difference is around 30%.

Physicians use the donor tissues, and place them under the skin of the penis, but on top of the ‘erection chambers.’ The erection chambers, or Corpora Cavernosa are two cylinder shaped chambers that run from the shaft of the penis to the glans. These chambers are filled with sponge-like tissue which fills with blood during an erection. When the physician inserts the donor tissues in the patient’s penis, he creates a thickness by stacking or folding the tissue. He ‘builds’ up the shape and width of the penis until it is at the patient’s desired thickness.

With Allograft Dermal Matrix Grafts, the physician is able to build up the width of the penis and it still appears natural. It looks and feels completely natural, and the surgery is much shorter than with fat injections or similar surgeries.

The grafts are done in an outpatient setting, and the patient is given a local anesthetic for a painless surgery. Tests are performed on the donor tissues long before they are prepared for insertion into the patient. The donor tissue is tested for sexually transmitted disease, such as HIV (Aids), Hepatitis, and Syphilis. They are also thoroughly tested for bacteria before being prepared for patient use. Donor facilities follow FDA standards.

This is a definite option in patients who experience an unhappiness in the width or girth of their penis, and are beginning to have issues which arise that are due to that. For example, a man who is unhappy with the size of his penis can suffer from intimacy issues as well. He is afraid of rejection based on his inferior size, and this can lead to withdrawal from his spouse or partner. Addressing unhappiness issues with a man’s penis can prevent other underlying effects.

This process is also particularly useful for rebuilding damaged tissues or areas on a man’s penis when he has experienced an injury or trauma. This will help him regain his confidence and be able to function more properly. This can help self-esteem, and give the man a greater sense of wholeness after an injury or accident.
