Glanular Enhancement

Often times when a man has his penis widened or enhanced, the glans, or tip of the penis will not look proportional to the shaft. He may also have been born with a shaft that is thicker than the glans. This may cause some unhappiness with the patient, and in these cases, glanular enhancement may be a good idea. Glanular enhancement is the widening or enhancement of the glans or head of the penis. This type of procedure can create a more symmetrical look.

There are many different types of glanular enhancement available. Let’s look at some of them and their advantages and disadvantages.

Fat Transfer – This process involves taking fat from another part of a patient’s body and injecting it into the glans of the penis. This makes the glans wider, and thicker. It is also possible for the physician to ‘mold’ or sculpt the penis to ensure that the glans and the shaft are symmetrical and everything looks natural and real. This process can be tricky, however, because the fat is unpredictable. It can move around after the surgery and the result of that can be a look that isn’t uniform or symmetrical. With the fat transfer method, the shaft of the penis can be sculpted in a way so that it tapers down to the glans. With this process, glanular enhancement may not even be necessary.

Injection – With this method, a safe, gel type substance is injected into the glans of a man’s penis. This cannot be molded, however, with the texture of the gel, it fills in usually the correct way. This can increase the size of the glans or tip of the penis and make it more uniform with the size of the shaft.

Allograph dermal matrix grafts – These types of enhancement are done using donor tissue. A physician takes tissue that has been donated by another person, and implants it into the patient’s glans. They fold or stack the tissue under the skin of the glans penis. Once they have reached the desired size, or a size that is more compatible with the shaft, they finish the surgery. This is a great way to widen or thicken the glans, because it’s natural and real. With this method, there may be problems with the implants in some cases. The donor tissue comes from deceased people, and a patient’s body may reject the tissue, and the implantation may fail. There are very slim chances that you could contract a disease or sickness that the donor may have had. There have never been any contractions reported from Allograph dermal matrix grafts.

Speak with your doctor to come up with a plan for glanular enhancement. With the many different options, your doctor can tell you which procedure would be the right one for you. Depending upon your own unique needs and desires, your physician should be able to suggest the procedure that will be correct for you.
